Register for LeadingVoice Advocacy Bootcamp


The goal of this bootcamp is to empower grassroots advocates for aging services in Kansas. The training is available to any indivudal in an aging services role or educational program who is interested in enhancing their advocacy skills. This training is for current and new advocates alike. Trainees will learn the fundamentals of advocacy, participate in leadership and team building excercises, practice policy analysis, community organizing, and public relations, hear from guest speakers, and more. 

Three sessions will take place in November, December, and February. The first two sessions will be two days worth of classroom learning and various activities. the third session will allow individuals to put their newly acquired or finely tuned advocacy skills to practice at Aging Services Day at the Kansas Capitol.

Who Should Attend
The program is designed for anyone at any level to attend. Students, entry-level employees, supervisors, administrators, clinical, non-clinical, and board members who are passionate about aging services are invited to attend. Space is limited to 15 individuals.

Registration Fees
Registration fees only cover the cost of food, drinks, and required materials. Costs for hotels and transportation are not included. Register on the LeadingAge Kansas website.

Hotel Accommodations
A block of hotel rooms have been reserved at Hotel Topeka for special group rates. After the cut-off date, reservations will be based on available space at the regular rate. Ask for the LeadingAge Kansas room block to receive the special rate.
