Dear LeadingAge Kansas Members:

2020 is a presidential election year and for the first time in a long time, we have an open U.S. Senate seat in Kansas.  Along with the national political races, let’s not forget that the entire Kansas House and Kansas Senate are also up for re-election in November.

As not for profits, you play an important role in helping the people you serve exercise their rights as citizens, and strengthening their voice in Topeka and Washington, D.C.  Assisting residents to update their voter registration, serving as polling sites, hosting candidate forums, providing transportation to the polls and helping with advance ballots are great ways to help residents and staff put their voting powers to use.

This toolkit is designed to provide resources to assist your organization to conduct a variety of voter education and engagement activities, as well as important information regarding the “do’s” and “don’ts” of voter engagement as a not for profit organization.

And don’t forget – we are here to help you every step of the way.  If you have any questions or feel like you need some technical assistance, never hesitate to contact us.  You can call toll free:  1-800-264-5242 or email me at [email protected]

Have a happy election season!

Sincerely,
Rachel Monger
