LeadingAge Kansas Foundation Announces 2022 Scholarship Recipients

TOPEKA, Kan. – The LeadingAge Kansas Foundation has announced the recipients of their 2022 Scholarships to individuals working in aging services across the state of Kansas. 11 individuals will receive scholarships on October 21, 2022, at 10 AM, in a virtual celebration via Zoom, to advance their knowledge and education in the field of aging services.

“Amid the worst workforce crises our field has ever experienced, this is a bright spot for all to be proud of. Each of the recipients have dedicated their heart and hands to serving older Kansans”, stated Dana Weaver, Executive Director. “We are thrilled to lift these individuals up and support them in their educational journey.”

The scholarships have been a central part of the work of the LeadingAge Kansas Foundation since 2013 when the program was created. The goal of the scholarship program is to invest in individuals who have a passion for caring for older Kansans to support their future in our field. To date, the program has given away over $80,000 to deserving individuals across the state. Many of whom are making a major impact in our field right now.

“We must keep the great employees we have in the field, and this is one way we can do that, states Weaver. My mother benefitted from this program as the recipient of care from a LeadingAge Kansas Foundation scholarship winner. The impact this caregiver had on her, and our entire family was priceless. We are proud donors of the fund and encourage others to do so as well.”
