Maintenance Therapy Jitters?  Understanding Right Place, Right Time, and How to Document Maintenance Appropriately | Monica Thompson, Aegis Therapies |  CE 1.0
Does maintenance therapy give you the jitters? Have you been reluctant in offering maintenance therapy, perhaps because of fears of not doing it right? Or, have you jumped in with both feet and yet wonder if you’re adequately supporting your decisions? We often expect that achievement of long-term goals is the end of therapy intervention. However, there are times when maintenance of function is so inherently complex that continued skilled care is required. This session explores maintenance therapy regulations in the SNF, home health, and outpatient settings. Suggestions will be offered for when maintenance therapy might be appropriate and for structuring the program. It will review maintenance therapy documentation and therapy vulnerabilities and give suggestions for auditing those risks.

If one thing has become abundantly clear over the last few years, going it alone is getting a lot harder. For aging services organizations, now is a good time to start talking more about how we might partner more effectively and align for risk, efficiency, and quite frankly survival. But where to start? How does collaboration differ from affiliation? And am I leading the dance or being led? This session will talk about the ways in which aging services organizations might align more closely and why alignment considerations are at a critical juncture for our industry. In addition, we’ll discuss why and how others have approached this opportunity, the differences among collaboration, affiliation, and merger, and suggest a framework for members to consider as they look at their own organization and future path.

Continuing Education

You can receive up to 9.0 hours of continuing education clock hours as a Licensed Adult Care Home Administrator, Adult Care Home Operator or Dietitian in the cores of Administration. The Fall Conference is approved for 8.0 hours possible in the core of Administration and 1.0 in Resident Care.
