Nursing Coordinator
KMH is looking for an energetic and caring registered nurse to join our team as a Household Nursing Coordinator. The Nursing Coordinator is responsible for providing knowledge and skills to staff in the household in specific areas of clinical accountability, assuring that the household has the needed resources (community links, materials, supplies, skills and knowledge) to be successful, assuring the hiring, training, and evaluation of all reporting staff are done appropriately, and assuring regulatory compliance by encouraging appropriate record keeping and charting household and by maintaining appropriate files to document compliance in specific areas of clinical accountability. The Nursing Coordinator is also responsible for completing staff assignments, coaching staff and assists with evaluations and disciplinary actions, communicates with interdepartmental teams to respond to resident needs and preferences. The Nursing Coordinator monitors and implements the resident Plan of Care and is responsible for the direct oversight of Nurse Aides and Medication Aides. This is a supervisory position. Applicants for this position are required to handle employees in a manner that assists them in their ability to function effectively. Applicants must be able to perform in such a way to build good working habits and relationships among the staff that they manage as well as other departmental staff. Applicants must demonstrate on an ongoing basis the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with co-workers and other departments. Applicants must be familiar with the operation of various medical equipment, instruments, machines, and various office equipment. SunPorch of Smith County is seeking a gifted executive leader who has a passion for working with the elderly in a faith-based, nonprofit, continuing care retirement (lifeplan) community. SunPorch of Smith County will be built on land adjacent to a new critical access hospital under construction. The beginning phase I will offer two GreenHouse buildings for 10 elders each and a 12 unit apartment building for assisted living. The master plan includes the addition of 2 more GreenHouse’s along with expansion of the assisted living and creation of new independent living apartments. Successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction, as well as overseeing the day-to-day operations management, in collaboration with the Board of Directors and Leadership Team. High quality verbal and written communications ability with strong interpersonal and leadership skills are a must. Successful experience leading a nonprofit senior living programs is preferred. A Kansas nursing home administrator license is required. Competitive compensation package is negotiable to be commensurate with experience.
