Session Description

In this essential session, aging services staff will delve into the ,multifaceted challenges of elopement. Providers bear the critical responsibility of identifying residents at risk and implementing proactive measures to prevent elopement. Gain invaluable insights on best practices for effectively managing these situations and ensuring the safety and well-being of your residents. Arm yourself with the knowledge and strategies needed to navigate the complexities of elopement and uphold the highest standards of care.

Learning Objectives:

1. Review the trends and focus given to resident elopement in long term care settings.                                                                                                                     
2. Discuss evaluating a person's propensity to wandering and elopement.                                           
3. Understand underlying causes, triggers and environmental weaknesses.
4. Review operational best practices and a tool to evaluate your facility's readiness to prevent elopements.

• Four or fewer business days prior to the event start, no refund will be issued.
