This 1-hour presentation is targeted towards healthcare administrators and employees who have regulatory oversight and/or responsibility for emergency and disaster planning efforts within their organization. The goal of this session to discuss the four main components of the CMS Emergency Preparedness Rule, identify best practices for compliance and implementation, and review case studies of previous events that led to the implementation of the rule. Presenters will also share resources and best practices for reviewing your current compliance and implementing a continuous improvement process.

Objectives:
-By the end of this session participants will be able to identify the four main components for the emergency preparedness program.
-By the end of this session participants will be able to analyze their existing plans for potential gaps and areas for improvement.
-By the end of this session participants will be able to develop strategies for implementing a continuous improvement process for their existing emergency preparedness program.
