The CMS COVID-19 Focus Survey for Nursing Homes was implemented on March 23, 2020, and updated on May 6, 2020. CMS expects facilities to use this new process, in conjunction with the latest guidance from CDC, to perform a voluntary self-assessment of their ability to prevent the transmission of COVID-19.
