Session 1:  Tuesday, September 22 - 1:30-3:00

Session 4:  Wednesday, September 30 - 1:30-3:00 PM

Description
TeamSTEPPS is a teamwork and communication program that has proven effective in a variety of healthcare settings, including long-term care.  The tools and strategies taught in TeamSTEPPS are intended to improve safety and outcomes. 

Class size is limited to ensure the quality of the program and the effective transfer of knowledge.

Faculty
Courses will be taught by members of the Washburn University School of Nursing faculty and graduate students.  Washburn University School of Nursing faculty utilize TeamSTEPPS in classroom, clinical and research applications. 

Goals and Objectives
At the end of the course, participants will:

  • be able to describe the TeamSTEPPS tools
  • be able to demonstrate the ability to use tools from TeamSTEPPS
  • have a basic plan for implementing TeamSTEPPS in their organization
  • be able to describe the tools and strategies from the training that can be used to reduce off-label AP use rates.

We'll also talk about how to use TeamSTEPPS® to prevent, manage and recover from Covid. 

Continuing Education
This program is approved for up to 7.5 continuing education clock hours for Adult Care Home Administrators, Adult Care Home Operators and Dietitians by the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services in the core of Administration. Approved Provider number LTSA0009.

The Kansas State Board of Nursing approves the LeadingAge Kansas as a provider of continuing education. This course is approved for 7.5 continuing education hours applicable to RN, APRN and LPN re-licensure (KSBN LT0102-1116).

All other disciplines will receive a certification of attendance.

Continuing education hours are subject to change. To get the full CE hours and Master Trainer status participants must attend each training in the series.
