PDPM Webinar, December 19, 2018, 2:00 - 3:00pm

PDPM Video Checkpoint, January 9, 2019 in the Aging Update
“Forming your implementation committee and related subcommittees will put your organization on track for a successful implementation of the Patient Driven Payment Model. It is important to start early to reduce the stress on you, your staff and assure your organization is prepared. Included in the upcoming webinar will be the BKD Implementation Checklist. It is also time to reach out to your partner organizations to see how they are preparing and their timeline for implementation, for example, your information technology and therapy providers. During this phase identify the codes that crosswalk to the PDPM clinical categories for reimbursement.”

Q & A Call Ask an Expert Session, January 15, 2019, 2:00 - 3:00pm | A reminder will be sent out to submit your questions by January 11.
Please utilize the video checkpoint description above and video from January 9th to help you formulate and organize your questions for the Q&A Call.

PDPM Roundtables, February 20th - Topeka, Kansas at LeadingAge Kansas from 1 - 4 PM & February 21st - Wichita, KS at Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America from 9 - 12 PM
Join LeadingAge Kansas and BKD’s Sherri Robbins, RN, BSN, CLNC, RAC-CT, LNHA and John Harned, CPA, LNHA to discuss practical implementation processes for PDPM at the first set of roundtables with PDPM.  We encourage you to bring your implementation committee (up to five individuals from each organization) in order to gain the most value from this experience. The learning style will be a facilitated discussion of best practices for each area of focus on your implementation committee. For example, ICD-10, MDS, Therapy, Nursing, Education and Technology will be grouped together by area of specialty, in a typical roundtable format, to maximize the group learning dynamic.  This will be a great opportunity to discuss whatever you are needing most at this time.

PDPM Video Checkpoint, March 11, 2019 in the Aging Update
“With less than six months until you go live with PDPM, the focus is what needs to be completed this quarter. A complete knowledge of how the MDS will impact reimbursement as well as a working knowledge of diagnosis coding and how they crosswalk to reimbursement is critical. You should also be narrowing down who your technology partners will be for this transition. At this phase it will be important to know your nursing staff have a plan to address ICD-10 coding for the primary diagnosis. Continue your dialogue with your therapy company.”

Q&A Call Ask an Expert Session, March 21, 2019, 2:00 - 3:00pm | A reminder will be sent out to submit your questions by March 15.
Please utilize the video checkpoint description above and video from March 11th to help you formulate and organize your questions for the Q&A Call.

PDPM Video Checkpoint, June 3, 2019 in the Aging Update
“With four months until your go live date for PDPM, training on nursing documentation should begin as well as streamlining communication between therapy, nursing and MDS. Now is the perfect time to begin practicing for PDPM with Medicare Managed Care Patients. Your triple check process will need to undergo revision and this is the phase at which you should be placing these systems in place.”

Q&A Call Ask an Expert Session, June 11, 2019, 2:00 - 3:00pm | A reminder will be sent out to submit your questions by June 7.
Please utilize the video checkpoint description above and video from June 3rd to help you formulate and organize your questions for the Q&A Call.

PDPM Roundtables, July 16 - 18, 2019 - Locations TBD, 3 hours at 3 different locations across the state
The July roundtables will keep the same format with open discussion, group activities and Q&A. But this will be a deeper dive into what’s to come with therapy, nursing and MDS regarding documentation and communication. Together with the support of LeadingAge Kansas, BKD, colleagues and other providers as the date PDPM goes into effect grows closer you will need to work on really building your knowledge and skills. This roundtable is exactly the place to do that.

PDPM Webinar, August 6, 2019, 2:00 - 3:00pm
We would like to wait as we see the rulings come out to provide an accurate description for this webinar. Our goal is to build upon the education we have already given you and without the rulings we cannot properly do so. The final education of PDPM Academy is crucial, but what is most important is that you begin to actively work on this transition with your team and organization as soon as possible. You will only be successful if you are active in your efforts to be educated and working on an implementation plan for PDPM.

PDPM Video Checkpoint, September 18, 2019 in the Aging Update
“With less than a month before the transition to PDPM the key will be weekly and daily ‘pop-up’ trainings for all staff connected to your Medicare program. This is the time to begin testing their knowledge and problem solving skills. Your therapy contract should be finalized and systems should be in place for interdisciplinary team communication at least 5 days per week to discuss proper ICD-10 coding, information for the MDS affecting reimbursement and supporting documentation across the care team.”

Q&A Ask an Expert Session, September 24, 2019, 2:00 - 3:00pm | A reminder will be sent out to submit questions by September 20.
Please utilize the video checkpoint description above and video from September 10th to help you formulate and organize your questions for the Q&A Call.
